Meet Caroline Jamieson Golden

⚖ Legal Experience.  

Caroline Jamieson Golden practices civil rights litigation at Sotos Law, where she handles a variety of highly relevant, very current legal matters including civil rights, correctional facilities, due process and other Constitutional claims.  Her current practice primarily focuses on the defense of police and prosecutors in reversed conviction criminal cases.  

Prior to joining Sotos Law, Caroline was a litigation partner at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg.  Her practice there included prosecuting and defending high-stakes commercial litigation claims and coordinating the national defense of products liability claims in multi-district litigation.

Caroline began her professional legal career in 1992 at Querrey & Harrow, where she handled a wide range of civil matters that included the defense of premises liability, products liability, common carrier liability, construction and sexual harassment litigation.   

Academic excellence. 

Caroline attended DePaul College of Law in Chicago, where she was a General Editor of the DePaul Law Review and taught legal writing.  Her law review article on protecting intellectual property in Illinois was published in the DePaul Law Review.  As a law student, Caroline completed internships with a federal court judge and the United States’ Attorney’s Office. 

Caroline excelled academically, earning Jurisprudence Awards in Evidence and Civil Procedure.  She graduated with honors in 1992 and is a member of the Order of the Coif, an honorary scholastic society.  Caroline also graduated with honors from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign with a degree in finance.  She is a 1984 graduate of Benet Academy High School.

Family Focus.  

Caroline lives in Countryside with her husband Kevin, their three children and “Buster the Beagle.”  Kevin is a litigation partner at Dudley & Lake, LLC.

Their eldest daughter Meghan is a legal studies/social justice major at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.  

William, their middle son, studies business at DePaul University where he plays club hockey.

Their youngest son John attends high school where he plays football and basketball.  

Buster roams about the house, always looking for his next meal.
